Hello! I have a few spots available currently. Please check the calendar for my current availability. Unfortunately I can not accommodate any other times than what is listed. ***
Sometimes we get stuck. This might happen once, twice or what feels like "all the time." Despite our very best efforts, we may find ourselves having a hard time breaking free of set-backs, disappointments or major traumatic events. When we experience stress, anxiety or symptoms of depression we may find ourselves in a spiral that starts to affect other areas of our lives - our work, our relationships, and how we feel about ourselves. This may be new to you or familiar territory; either way, it is not a fun space to be in.
Our thoughts, behaviors and feelings can do as much to hinder us as they can to help us. It is a matter of changing them to be beneficial and this is something you have likely done a thousand times already in your life without noticing it. Sometimes our habits are so ingrained that it can be tricky to recognize and change them.
Whether you have struggled with this all your life or experiencing it for the first time, there is hope. I would love to help you master these skills of change. I will provide you with an empathetic and non-judgmental space to work through your issues and tackle the thoughts, feelings and behaviors keeping you stuck.
In regard to my history and experience:
I enjoy working with diverse issues though I specialize in the mood and affective disorders, which include Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and stress-related disorders. I am currently seeing adult clients age 18 & older.
I have my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Mississippi State University and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. I have provided individual, group and family therapy services in community mental health programs and non-profit agencies, schools, crisis services, residential and inpatient programs since 2001. I have experience with all ages and experience with military populations as well.
I have been trained in Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Interpersonal Process Therapy. I prefer evidence-based treatment approaches and strive to learn and incorporate those approaches. But as we are all individuals, I believe the best approach is individualized to the person I am helping. Since you are the best expert on your self, we will work collaboratively to come up with a plan to help you think and feel better.
We do not discriminate in the office. All are welcome and all are equally valued.
